Web design and digital marketing
I’m a web designer and strategist who specializes in media communications with a dash of video-editing and email-marketing flair. Plus, I love all that nerdy data-driven content development stuff, too.
I’ve created websites for small businesses and large nonprofits from start to finish while advising clients on best practices regarding SEO, email marketing and web design for future growth. As a strategist, I work to optimize user experiences and conversion rates by reviewing analytic data and making decisions based on testing. I’m also able to take concepts through strategy, create design prototypes and deliver a final product on deadline. So, send me a project or an idea, and I’ll turn it around in no time.
Throughout primary school, my teachers told me it was okay to not know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I knew I liked making things but never settled on one professional aspiration in high school. Little did I know that dabbling in video editing with my VCR and modifying the HTML on my angelfire.com site would be the foundation of my professional career.
I wasn’t a traditional college student in the sense that most students have a set path and finish their degrees in four years. Working a full-time job to support myself, it took me nearly eight years to finish my bachelor’s degree in mass communications. But, once I found a senior-level media theory class and aced it, I knew I was switching my major for the last time to pursue a profession where I could design, craft and overanalyze media all at the same time.
Here’s an infographic that illustrates my journey:
I’m working primarily as a freelance web designer and strategist these days. My goal is to continue supporting independent artists, start-up companies, non-profits and educational programs and find new collaborations with other creatives.
Feel free to contact me if you think we’d work well together or even just enjoy bouncing ideas off each other.
